How does the panel work ?
The Infrared Panel needs to be connected to a standard electrical circuit by a competent electrician or simply plugged into the wall. Panels are only 3.5cm deep and come with screw fixings to be either fitted into a solid ceiling or on the wall like a picture above where you will be sitting.
When the panel is first switched on it will use its infrared power to firstly heat objects and people who in turn give off heat to warm the air. You will soon feel the warmth on your skin from the panel although the actual room temperature is still low. Room thermostats can be turned down to compensate and achieve electricity savings.
Once warmed up the panel will cut in and out as the temperature in the room changes and is only "on" for about 30% of the time, the stored heat is then radiated out providing a gentle even warmth. Infrared is far more efficient because it is heating you, rather than conventional radiant heaters that are just warming the air. Our panels run almost silently, you will only hear the faintest click as the infrared cuts out, there are no annoying fans or motors.
Panels do not create air currents so there is no movement of dust and it is able to settle, this is of real benefit to those wearing contact lenses, or who suffer from hayfever, asthma or other bronchial conditions as the air conditions are more pleasant. Panels can simply be wiped clean. When fitted into the ceiling panels are generally out of danger from accidental damage in a workshop environment.
