Where do I hang the Infrared panel?  Imagine your infrared panel is like the sun.  It needs to be above you, on the ceiling or wall, with nothing in front of it to cast a shadow.

Do I need a specialist to fit it for me?  No, all panels come with a flex, plug and screw fixings at the back. However, if you want your panel to look really stylish we recommend you get a qualified electrician to permanently fix the panel into the wall and chisel in the wiring then fit a room thermostat and timer which will give you full control of your heating.

How much will it cost to run?  A 1kw panel will take in 1kw of energy to provide 1kw of heat, there is no wasted energy in fans or lights and no loss of heat with pipes or covers. Once your panel has reached temperature it will only be "on" for about 30% of the time so the running cost will be far less than 1kw per hour. Please refer to your energy supplier for your current electricity tariff per hour. Heating costs will vary on other factors too, such as the insulation of the building or whether it is facing south in a sheltered location.

Is the panel safe to use in a family environment?  Yes, the panel will be high on the wall or ceiling so it should not receive any accidental damage by children and there are no moving parts or open grills for small fingers to go poking things into. The surface will only get as hot as any other radiator in the house.

Will the panel need any maintenance or servicing?  No, there are no parts to be serviced unlike conventional boilers and radiators, a simple wipe down with a damp cloth or glass polish is sufficient. The Infrared panel comes with a three year guarantee.

How long will it take to warm up?  You will instantly feel the benefits of the infrared heating, as it will warm people and objects first, so even if the air temperature is chilly you will feel warm! Panels can either be fitted with a timer and room thermostat to come on at set times as with any central heating or just switched on when needed.

I am trying to do my bit for the environment, is infrared environmentally friendly? Infrared is one of the most energy efficient ways to keep you warm when using a home office.  Our panels are designed to warm you first and not the air, whilst standard radiators heat the air which is then lost through the open door or window. One infrared panel in a home office can have its own thermostat and timer so that the conventional central heating can be off in the rest of the house and just the office heating on, this will save considerable amounts of money on central heating bills. The office heating panel can also be switched on when the day turns chilly but the full central heating is not really required.
